Lucus serves as the Vice Chancellor of Information Technology and Institutional Research at the Yosemite Community College District (YCCD), providing strategic leadership and oversight for the institution's information technology infrastructure, services, operations, and research. With over 18 years of experience in higher education and K12 leadership, he brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the academic environment.

Prior to joining YCCD, Lucus served as the Associate Vice President of IT Infrastructure and Operations at San Jose State University. His major accomplishments included deploying IT infrastructure systems for the new Interdisciplinary Science Building, the new Spartan Athletic Complex, and planning for the latest student housing facility, Spartan Village on the Paseo. He also oversaw upgrading the University's core network infrastructure, facilitated an expansion of public cloud migration, increased virtual labs by 300%, and collaborated with the Research Foundation to secure a National Science Foundation grant to replace the outdated High Performance Computing cyberinfrastructure for the College of Science and College of Engineering.

Lucus is a strong advocate for leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and research. He is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation that empowers students, faculty, and staff to reach their full potential. At YCCD, his focus is on creating a better digital experience for students by strengthening cybersecurity, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting student-driven decision-making.

Lucus is an active member of Educause, the California Community College Chief Information Systems Officer’s Association, and the Consortium of School Networking, and most recently spoke at the California IT in Education conference. He has a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
